We’re proud to share that The Northview Farmhouse has won the 2026 EEBA Building Excellence Award for Excellence in Decarbonization. The award was presented at the Energy & Environmental Building Alliance (EEBA) High Performance Home Builder Summit in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
The EEBA awards recognize builders, suppliers and professionals who are pushing high-performance homebuilding forward. A panel of sustainability directors, energy raters, architects and other industry experts judged this year’s entries.

A Rebuild With a Bigger Purpose
The Northview Farmhouse is a 2,343-square-foot single-story home in Glendale, Arizona. It sits on a lot where the previous house burned down. Instead of simply replacing what was lost, we saw a chance to build differently. We designed the enclosure, mechanical systems, ventilation and materials to work together as one system.

How the Home Cuts Carbon
- All-electric: a high-efficiency Lennox air-source heat pump and a Rheem heat pump water heater (4.05 UEF) mean there’s no fossil-fuel combustion on site, and the home has a clear path to net zero as more renewable power is added.
- Tight, well-insulated shell: continuous exterior insulation, aerosol air sealing that reached 1.4 ACH50, and ductwork inside the conditioned space.
- Lower-carbon materials: the exterior uses Green Cork, chosen for its fire resilience and as part of our commitment to healthier, lower-carbon materials.
- Repeatable by design: we specified an off-the-shelf window glass package that any builder can order, so these strategies can be repeated and scaled.
The home is projected to save more than $3,100 a year compared with an average U.S. home, and it meets ENERGY STAR Versions 3.1, 3.2 and 3.3.
Recognized Across Five Categories
The Northview Farmhouse was also a finalist for the DENH Custom for Buyer, Excellence in Resiliency, Excellence in Healthier Homes and Excellence in Electrification awards. Being recognized in so many categories reflects what we believe: a great home is healthy, resilient, efficient and built to last.
